On Wednesday December 4th from 3.30pm, West Bridgford’s freshly cooked tapas bar and restaurant escabeche, will offer the chance to get ahead of Christmas with their first ‘Late Night Shopping’ event.

From mid-afternoon until early evening, escabeche will host a unique pop-up shop of wonderfully imaginative, hand-made gifts from local designers. There will also be locally sourced holly wreaths, mistletoe and  vintage Christmas decorations, while the air will be filled with the scent of complementary mulled wine and hot chocolate.

Local designers already confirmed include Rosehip vintage jewellery with a twist of nature; Rock Villa’s eye-catching die cut cards and pictures; Daisy Cat’s whimsical cards and gifts; Bashka’s dolls, gorgeously handcrafted from cashmere, tartan and more; cushions, buttons and birds by leading textile artist Rachel Ainley; Sweetpea’s hand-knitted jumpers and cardigans; the work of renowned ceramicist Carly Dodsley, and holly and mistletoe plucked from West Bridgford.

Late Night Shopping at escabeche organiser Alison Reaney enthused:

“We’re all fantastically excited. We’re hoping for one night, escabeche will be transformed from a lovely taps bar and restaurant to a Christmas wonderland! I know everyone is busy making their unique gifts and cards, and the holly wreaths and mistletoe are on order. It’s going to be a lovely, gentle way to get into the Christmas spirit.”

escabeche co-owner Jon Perkins commented:

“It’s a huge pleasure to be able to host so many creative types from in and around West Bridgford. We already feature the work of local artists on our walls, so Late Night Shopping fits perfectly with the look, feel and philosophy of what we do at escabeche.”
