Gas works for Boundary Road

National Grid will be renewing gas mains in Boundary Road, West Bridgford, next week to keep the gas flowing to homes and businesses in the area for decades to come.

The work is scheduled to start on Monday (13 January) and is expected to take around up to two weeks to complete.

National Grid is replacing old metal gas mains with modern hardwearing plastic pipes that are designed to last for at least 80 years. The work will be carried out in conjunction with Morrison Utility Services and Skanska.

So that the gas main replacement can be carried out safely and as quickly as possible, National Grid will be closing part of Boundary Road while the work is in progress. The section affected is between Selby Road and the entry that serves Rushcliffe School and the Rushcliffe Leisure Centre. A short diversion will be clearly signposted, and access to the school and leisure centre will be maintained while the work is being carried out. Gas supplies to homes and businesses will not be affected.
