Escabeche have added more tastes of Mediterranean sunshine to their menus after unveiling 15 exciting new dishes on their Summer 14 menu. Nine new tapas get a summer launch:
Barbeque pork belly skewers and escabeche slaw offers spicy, lip-smacking flavour and creamy slaw; Seared calf’s liver, creamed potato, mint & caper jus is a locally sourced take on the traditional chicken liver dish; lamb rump, Israeli couscous, onion, feta and almonds adds tiny pearls of Israeli pasta to wonderfully tender lamb.
Corn and chilli empanadillas (think mini Spanish pasties), avocado & lime guacamole and fried polenta ‘chips’, mange tout & sesame with Romesco sauce are new treats for vegetarians.
There are four new dishes for fish lovers: Mojama, a light, summery salt cured tuna joined by orange & olives; poached smoked haddock salad, pickled beetroot with apple & walnut; warm potato, tuna, bean, pesto & Parmesan salad and seared sea bream, rosemary & potatoes.
Escabeche are making even greater use of their popular coca oven by adding Chorizo, mozzarella & tomato; barbeque pulled pork shoulder with Parmesan; and beef, truffled mushroom & rocket.

Escabeche co-owner Jon Perkins commented:
“We’re really trying to bring a taste of the Barcelona sunshine to West Bridgford; at this time of year, the Catalan capital is awash with influences from across the Mediterranean. We really hope some of the superb new dishes we’ve added to the escabeche menu excite our diners as they did us when we gave them a test run on trips to Catalonia.”
