Pizza Express has submitted a planning application for a takeaway operation on Radcliffe Road. The chain, which already has a restaurant on Central Avenue, wants to open at Bridgford Point on the corner of Radcliffe Road and Lady Bay Avenue (formerly Johnsons Dry Cleaners), in a move that could create up to 15 jobs. The firm has being eyeing up the site for some time, having been refused planning permission to open much larger unit within the development in 2007.

Minimal Impact?

Adrian Kerrison of AMK Planning, who submitted the planning application on behalf of Pizza Express, said: “The proposed pizza takeaway use, which will be almost exclusively a delivery based operation will have a minimal impact on the amenities of nearby residents in the context of existing traffic and other late night activity established in this area and in fact it is difficult to envisage a more appropriate location for this type of operation in West Bridgford.”

Full details of the planning application can be found on the Rushcliffe Borough Council website.
