Extensive searches are being carried out in the area adjacent to the River Trent. Specialist boat teams have also been deployed to assist with the search.

Det Ch Insp Karen Pearson of Nottinghamshire Police said: “It is very out of character for Mr Bugg to go missing.

“He has had no contact with family or friends and has not attended work – all of which is causing concern for those who know Mr Bugg.

“We have a large number of officers and specialist teams working to try and locate Mr Bugg today. However, the public could be our greatest asset.

“We are asking for anybody who may have heard from him to get in touch. We are also asking for people maybe out walking dogs in the area to keep an eye out

“We would also urge everyone to look at the picture of Mr Bugg and to let us know if they have seen him since the last sighting.”

Mr Bugg is described as white and around 5ft 7ins tall. He is of medium build with short, light brown hair and was wearing a blue shirt, dark grey trousers and brown shoes.
