The new owners of the Riverbank Bar and Kitchen have been confirmed as microbrewery, pub and restaurant brand Brewhouse & Kitchen. The popular chain adds this site to their existing portfolio of 16 across the country.
Located next to Trent Bridge, the venue contains a bar, restaurant and banqueting suite with a large riverside seating terrace. As it holds a wedding licence, it will now be the first brewery in the UK able to hold marriage ceremonies. The site also previously catered for regular music events, conferences and other functions before closing in late January.
Gavin Webb, Business Agent in Christie & Co’s Nottingham office who handled the sale comments, “The Riverbank Bar & Kitchen established itself as a landmark venue in Nottingham following its opening in April 2010. While sad to see it go, I’m sure Nottingham residents will welcome Brewhouse & Kitchen into the city with their exciting new plans for the premises. We wish both them and our clients all the success in the future.”
The previous owners, brothers Adam and Robin Perkins, also own Tom Browns Brasserie in Gunthorpe. Adam comments, “We would like to take the opportunity to thank all the staff and customers old and new for making it such a special place.
“We’ve had seven wonderful years at the Riverbank, but it’s time for us to move on. We will look forward to focusing on Tom Browns and spending time with our families.
“It’s really exciting that Brewhouse & Kitchen have chosen our site for their next venture and we wish them all the success!”
The off-market deal was agreed for an undisclosed sum.
