Bonfire Night is long gone, so that can only mean its time for the Christmas lights switch on! The annual West Bridgford Christmas lights switch on is taking place on Saturday 24th November 10am-6pm, sponsored by The Botanist.

Central Avenue, Gordon Road and Gordon Square will host an array of children’s fairground rides and activities, a food and gift market as well as festive theatre and live music. Many shops and cafes in this area will also be organising activities and events.

The YouNG Christmas Market will return for the second year on Gordon Square, featuring young entrepreneurs aged 13-21. In addition to stalls, there will be a free santa’s grotto, a christmas tree trail and performances from young musicians. For more information on the YouNG Christmas Market, click here.

Plumtree School will take the stage at 1:30pm, followed by The Tuneless Choir at 2:30pm, The Liberty Choir at 3:30pm and singer Katherine Dryden at 4pm. This leads up to the Christmas lights switch on at 5pm and big firework finale.

Don’t just head home after the finale! Visit one of the many bars or cafes in the town centre, including The Botanist who are hosting an after party.
