West Bridgford Car Parking price change

Motorists will be able to park for free after 8pm each evening following a revision of car parking charges at Bridgford Road, Gordon Road and Nursery Road car parks in West Bridgford.

Currently, drivers pay £1 to park between 6pm to midnight, with the next day tariffs starting at midnight. The new free after 8pm parking changes all of that, so from today (April 1), motorists can park from 8pm to 7am the next day, free of charge.

The changes come as Rushcliffe Borough Council continues to move forward on its agenda to support local businesses and further assist residents and visitors alike to take advantage of the town centre’s evening economy.

Meanwhile, the structured daytime parking tariffs stay the same, making sure that the car parks continue to meet the various needs of visitors and shoppers during the day.

The cashless RingGo scheme is also available at the car parks across Rushcliffe, allowing users to pay for parking or extend their stay via its mobile app, website or phone service.

Cabinet Portfolio Holder for Finance Cllr Gordon Moore said: “We have listened to the feedback from both local motorists and recommendations made by the West Bridgford Commissioner’s report and are delighted to revise the tariffs.

“We wish to continue to support economic growth in the town centre and these changes will allow all to park for free after 8pm and enjoy the vibrant night time economy in the town centre.

“The RingGo scheme introduced last year also gives residents and visitors the flexibility needed when arriving at many of our car parks with the option of paying via the app, website or over the phone, in a matter of minutes”.
