The company behind the highly successful Copper Café brand are excited to announce they will be launching a new venue in West Bridgford, The Refinery, due to open at the end of May 2019.
Great Northern Inns owners Dave Willans and Les Howard have brought two new partners on board, who have both been behind the launch of the West Bridgford and City centre Copper venues; Antony Wilson who is already a partner in the City centre venue will be joined by Tristan Hanmer who has been a member of the senior management for Copper for 10 years and will be general manager of the new site. Dave Willans comments “It’s fantastic to have the opportunity to open another site in West Bridgford and one we’re all looking forward to opening. It’s so rewarding that individuals we have employed for many years now have the opportunity to become partners in our new ventures and hopefully gives our younger generation of bar staff incentive and insight into how the company values our hardworking and long-serving team members”.
Located on Melton Road in West Bridgford (formerly Signature Steakhouse), the venue is currently undergoing an extensive refurbishment and is due to open around the bank holiday weekend (date to be confirmed). The work is being carried out by numerous local companies, including Concorde RGW design, Rock Electrical, Image Sounds and Havenwood Signage.
General Manager, Tristan explains: “Through the extensive refurbishment, we are creating a sophisticated, modern interior which looks and feels luxurious yet warm and welcoming, all of which reflect our brand values. Think plush textiles, bold prints and lots of lavish detailing which will make The Refinery the perfect place or lazy weekend brunches, daytime coffees right into evening meals and bespoke cocktails.”
The Refinery’s kitchen offering will include high quality ingredients, sourced from local suppliers
wherever possible (such as The Fruit Basket) to create a freshly prepared menu featuring broad
brunch options, hand-stretched pizzas – stone-baked on site – salads, sandwiches, burgers and grill mains with a tasty children’s menu for younger visitors.
Hot drinks and perfectly prepared coffees (something which the team are true experts in) will be supplied by local supplier Lee & Fletcher (both Free Trade and Rainforest Alliance registered). In addition, a carefully crafted wine list, cask and keg beer from Navigation Brewery, speciality cocktails, plenty of unique and premium spirits and delicious soft drinks will be on offer over the bar.
The Refinery will be open 7 days a week for brunch, lunch and evening menus, welcoming both
diners and drinkers.
