Proms in the Park is set to be a great celebration for Armed Forces Day as hundreds of music fans are set to descend on Bridgford Park in West Bridgford for the annual event.

Coordinators Rushcliffe Borough Council will once again be welcoming a host of local choirs, singers and bands that are set to wow residents and visitors alike on Saturday June 29.

The event is the authority’s free open-air musical event to further celebrate the Forces’ commitments in the Borough that include support from Rushcliffe’s Community Covenant.

There will be performances from 2pm right through to 9pm with community displays, sports activities and a children’s fairground also entertaining event goers.

The Ragdolls make their Proms debut and will take to the stage to perform a tribute to Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons.

Deputy Leader of the Council Cllr Debbie Mason said: “Proms in the Park this year is set to be another fabulous event, not only with great music and fun, but also to pay tribute to our Armed Forces Community and a celebration of Armed Forces Day.

“The atmosphere is set to be buzzing with brilliant performances and activities for all the family to enjoy, so come along to Bridgford Park and have fun!”

The full stage programme is as follows:

2pm – Music For Everyone (featuring Nottingham Junior Voices and Nottingham Youth Band)

3pm – The Liberty Singers        

4pm – South Notts Men’s Chorus       

6pm – The Ragdolls

7pm – Nottingham Concert Band conducted by Robert Parker
