The Lady Bay Open Gardens’ weekend will be formally opened by BBC Radio Nottingham’s gardening expert and Horticultural lecturer Stuart Dixon and The Mayor of Rushcliffe Councillor Christine Jeffreys at 131 Holme Road on Saturday 6 July at 1pm. This will be followed by a performance by the Black Peacock Belly Dancers.
This popular two-day garden event takes place on Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 July 2019 between 1 and 5pm each day. There will be 16 beautiful and varied gardens open to the public alongside entertainment, activities for children including a treasure hunt plus cake and plant stalls. Visitors are asked to look out for the special ‘Open Garden’ signs outside each participating property kindly provided by Rex Gooding Estate Agents.
The events Chair Tony Papkiewicz said, “This year is looking to be as fantastic as ever. I’d like to say a special thank you to the garden owners taking part and all the entertainers giving their time voluntarily as well as our event supporters Holy Calzone on Trent Boulevard, local Estate Agent Rex Gooding and Cockburn Lucas 4 Women ( CL4Women) financial planners.”
The volunteer organisers are aiming to build on the amazing success of previous years and raise even more money for charities and other local good causes. Proceeds go to the Lady Bay Community Fund as well as various charities nominated by garden owners.
Free parking is available at the Nottingham Rugby Club, The Poppy and Pint and The Lady Bay Pub.
