The Junkyard Bar & Kitchen on Trent Boulevard in Lady Bay will close it’s doors for the final time this Sunday (9th Feb). A company statement reads:

We are sad to announce that we will be closing our site on Trent Boulevard in Lady Bay. We thoroughly enjoyed being the custodians of this fantastic site, if only for a short while, but it is time for someone else to have a go.

We will be open for one final week and close at 8pm on Sunday 9th Feb.

We hope to see many of you down this week – we will be running a full breakfast, lunch and dinner service. After we hope to see all our loyal customers making the short hop into town to visit us in one of our three surviving bars.

The bottom line is that we have not been able to turn over enough to make the business profitable and we feel we are better placed directing our energies into our city centre sites in these challenging times. Our recent refurbishment and rebrand had been a success and those who visited the new Junkyard will no doubt be surprised to hear we are closing. The successful events and evenings were starting to build but we felt there was still a long journey ahead and we simply lack the resources to see it out.

We really love the premises and found Lady Bay a wonderful community to be part of, it is a very sad occasion for us all and making this decision was not taken lightly. Some of our amazing staff will sadly lose their jobs and there will be less business for the local suppliers and services that we supported and championed.

We do feel another operator with a different offering could be successful here, so hopefully Lady Bay will see a new tenant soon. If you wish to enquire about the property the lease is now on the market, please contact Ben at Box Properties for details.

If you have any other questions or would like to book a table for our final week please contact us at jbk@junkbars.com
